CPO Drives Strategic Partnerships to Commercialise EdUHK Innovations in the GBA

Against the dynamic backdrop of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) development, the Centre for Pre-incubation and Outreach (CPO) is actively accelerating the deep integration of industry, academia, and research. By bridging EdUHK’s cutting-edge research with key external stakeholders—including government officials, venture investors, and industry leaders — the CPO is dedicated to transforming technological advancements into robust entrepreneurial ventures.

 

This strategic initiative recently culminated in a highly productive meeting on 11 June 2026, spotlighting two award-winning EdUHK technologies: EmoCare, developed by Professor Song Yanjie of the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology, and Bio-Sentinel Passive eDNA/eRNA Sampling, created by Professor Cheng Jinping of the Department of Science and Environmental Studies. 

 

During the session, all parties expressed a strong consensus on forging a strategic partnership to commercialise these innovations. Discussions specifically highlighted the potential establishment of spin-off companies in Guangzhou, leveraging the comprehensive capital empowerment and resource ecosystem provided by the Guangzhou Talent Group, leveraging the comprehensive capital empowerment and resource ecosystem provided by the Guangzhou Talent Group. Moving forward, the CPO will provide dedicated coordination to ensure this cross-regional collaboration translates into tangible, high-impact outcomes for both EdUHK and its GBA industry partners.
