As a technology startup founded and developed by researchers from multiple Hong Kong universities, we have long focused on marine testing as one of our key research directions and product areas. During this trip to Huidong in the Greater Bay Area, we had the precious opportunity to engage in in-depth exchanges with officials from the Huidong National Oceanic Administration. Through candid and fruitful discussions, we gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the local development needs. This not only built a bridge of mutual understanding between both sides but also laid a solid foundation for future complementary cooperation, allowing us to envision the boundless possibilities of marching forward together to create brilliance.
Huidong, a charming and vibrant city, is like a dazzling pearl inlaid in the Greater Bay Area. It boasts gifted and unique marine resources and a robust, well-developed industrial production chain. In the seafood processing sector, it has formed a mature and efficient industrial chain from fishing to deep processing, with various high-quality seafood products exported far and wide. In shoe manufacturing, its exquisite craftsmanship and stylish designs have secured an important position in domestic and international markets. Additionally, numerous new material industries provide comprehensive new material products for enterprises at home and abroad. The profound historical and cultural heritage endows Huidong with a unique charm, where tradition and innovation blend perfectly, and ancient stories and modern development together paint a colorful picture.
During this investigation trip, we visited several highly representative key sites. At the Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant, we were amazed by cutting-edge technology and felt the vigorous development of the clean energy industry. Stepping into the Huidong Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, we were greeted by a strong entrepreneurial atmosphere, where innovative ideas keep emerging, providing a broad stage for young entrepreneurs. In the marine ranch, the combination of modern aquaculture models and ecological protection concepts demonstrates a promising prospect for sustainable development. The charming scenery of Turtle Bay and its rare sea turtles made us deeply appreciate the significance of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
These rich investigation experiences have greatly broadened our horizons, enabling us to gain a thorough grasp of local resource distribution, policy support, and potential business opportunities. Everything we saw and heard has become our valuable intellectual wealth. Notably, this trip has played a practical and crucial role in advancing our company's R&D and provision of water quality detection technologies and services, as well as in sales and cooperation with governments and investors.
We sincerely thank the Centre for Pre-incubation and Outreach of EdUHK for meticulously arranging this investigation activity in Huidong, Greater Bay Area! This rare experience has opened a new door for us, filling us with confidence and anticipation for future development!
